LR-308/AR-10 questions...

Yes, I did some searching but couldn’t find much…

Going to be doing two builds in the near future. Likely going to use Mega receiver sets. I’ve built 5 complete AR-15’s and put 3-4 more lower halves together so I’ve got a decent handle on the little brother, but need to know specifics on the '10…

What parts do I need that are not AR-15 compatible? The receiver sets come with charging handles, takedown pins, dustcover, bolt catch, etc. Forgive my lack of information gathering abilities, I’m not at a computer where it is very easy to do so.

Will the Troy TRX rail fit over the DPMS SASS .963 gas block? Talk to me about receiver extensions/stocks for them…

Save yourself some headache and buy a factory .308 from LMT / Colt / Larue, etc.

Rob_S has a “Chart” somewhere on rail systems that includes Troy. Contact Troy on Monday and they will quickly answer your gas block question.

:suicide:

You will need a 308 bcg not sure if mega uses dpms or armalite pattern. Also, I think you will need 308 buffer parts.
I’m not sure if the troy trx extreme will fit over a 936 block, there’s about an 1/8" of space around my low pro 750 block.
I’m not near a computer right now so I can’t check.

Thanks for the info.

I figured since it was the weekend, I would pick the brains of the ‘masses’ and see if I could get something figured out before then. I’ll get on the horn tomorrow…

Much wisdom spoken from this wise man from AZ.

If Noveske switches to SR25 lowers as rumored I would also put them at the top of my list.

Rainier Arms has done a lot of custom .308 AR work. They can set you straight on what bolt to use with a MaTen. IIRC they use a modded ArmaLite bolt for the MaTen SR-25 builds.

With ArmaLite now offering a SR-25 compatible rifle I’m sure Noveske well follow. I hate to admit it but the SR-25 has won the mag wars, it’s the defacto standard.
