LPK's is there a difference?

I am looking into my first build and was wondering if there is a difference between different companies lower parts kits. One vendor I was looking at has DPMS for close to $60, CMT/Stag for close to $70 and RRA for $75. Is there anything that would make the RRA $15 more than the DPMS or make the CMT worse than the RRA? Given the 3 listed, which would you choose and why?

I’ve used DPMS LPKs for about 35 builds on new lowers and have never had a problem. The RRA LPKs have horrible trigger pulls YMMV.

I have used RRA and CMT and prefer CMT, very nice triggers

And how do these kits compare to Colt parts for a hard use carbine? Putting it this way, if all of these kits were the next airplane you were going to fly on, which ones do you trust to get you there and which ones may (or will) “drill a hole in the ground” on the way?

What makes the Colt so good? I truly don’t know. The CMT/ STAG is mil-spec and has a surprisingly good trigger.

Would the CMT/Stag LPK happen to be the same one going into Colt’s?

I’ve used DPMS LPK’s b4 w/ no problems what so ever.

I like CMT/Stag kits.

I have one set up with a DPMS LPK. With few rounds through it - mostly just dry-firing - the only thing I can really speak to is that the trigger pull is heavy enough that I have to check to make sure the safety is disengaged. The next lower that Grant is going to put together for me (he doesn’t know it yet) will have a CMT LPK.
