Lpk for noveske lower?

I’m planning on getting a noveske stripped upper/lower from Rainier arms within the next few months. My plans are a slow build as money allows. I’m going with a BCM bcg, and undecided on barrel as of now. I’ll be adding my imod stock, magpul grip and Troy rail to it. And then I’ll have almost a complete rifle laying around. What would be a good and reliable lpk to purchase?

G & R Tactical LPK, I put one in my lower and the components are very high quality.

Rainier also sells a Daniel Defence LPK that is very good.
narrow your choices to the G&R and the DD and you wont go wrong.

I put Colt in mine with a couple exceptions for ambi parts & trigger.

I also used the G&R LPK in my Noveske lower. Trigger pull was good and every thing operated very smoothly.

Another vote for the G&R LPKs.

G&R (with a GSSA), or DD (with a GSSA) would be my choices.

My only exceptions to this are with BCM Complete lowers (used BCM LPK, and added GSSA), and an older LMT LPK (with Timney 3#).

I have no experience with the Spike’s, but that’s worth a look. I have had bad experiences with DPMS ones - not worth the hassle to me anymore.

I have purchased four of the G&R lower parts kits for the builds I did. All four were easy to assemble, and the out of the box trigger pull was quite good.

I really like the fact that you can order a couple of extra springs, pins and detents as well. Honestly, that’s good insurance for just a few dollars.

G&r it is.

For what it’s worth Noveske uses Stag parts kits in their complete guns.

Just curious, how do you know that?

.

Noveske has used a variety of suppliers for their various parts. They’ve used CMT (Stag) for their lowers/uppers in the past (B series serial numbers) and have used CMT for their stock LPK’s too - don’t know if they still are. CMT is a very capable machine shop, but the thing that makes Noveske top quality is their rigid QC standards and the fact that they’ll throw away a higher percentage of those outsourced parts if they don’t pass muster.

I don’t buy standard LPK’s because they usually come with parts that I don’t want to use … eg. I want a bigger trigger guard, aftermarket trigger, ambidextrous selector, stainless steel detents … so I end up buying all the parts separately. I get things like the springs, buffer detent, bolt catch, mag release from Brownells or Midway. I’ve been plagued by bad bolt catches on the last couple of rifle’s I’ve built, never had an issue with a Colt bolt catch (at about 3x the price, though).

I also think that G&R Tactical LPK would be a great way to go. Plus they are offered at a great price too. Plus if you need a great buffer, extension tube and buffer spring they offer good quailty LMT or BCM available as well too.

G&R is nice because you can choose not to buy the grip, trigger, etc. Kind of piece it together. Or you can buy the whole thing, he gives you the option. If you did not one from him, I would go with DD.

I used a dpms in a pistol caliber lower build and it’s not great but is also not on a serious gun…just a range fun gun.

I used a DD LPK on a lower and it has a BCM upper and the kit is nice…not to far off my LMT lower.

I plan on getting a G&R when funds permit.

Most LPK parts are made by a few machine shops then sold to various companies that brand them as their own. Just buy a standard LPK to get the small parts and use a better trigger and hammer if you want.

=======================================

The making of the LPK’s may be as you say but some of those “few machine shops” must make crap because there are lesser quality LPK’s available. Your Post makes it sound like all of “the small parts” made are of equal quality and we only need to worry about the hammer and trigger.

I’ve never read or heard a negative comment about any of G&R’s lower parts. Plus you can buy individual parts from G&R. So, evidently G&R has narrowed the “few machine shops” down to just the “good machine shops” and they get the lower parts from those quality shops to make the LPK’s.

But maybe it’s just me…

There are more and more companies making LPK components these days.

Our LPK’s were originally started because I was unhappy with the options available and wanted something JUST for me. As word spread, we decided to offer them for sale.

We select components from about 4 different companies. Most of the key parts come from LMT.

Yes the small, non-AR parts like the pins, detents, and springs are made by those respective industries and bought in bulk by companies who assemble a set of parts to make a complete LPK. They are made on contract to a tolerance set by the customer who buys 1,000 of each part or so in bulk, bags them up, and now you have your “own” LPK brand, much like lowers. DelTon does this as does DPMS, RRA, and others. The looser the tolerances, the cheaper the parts generally. I know of one machine shop that makes the trigger and hammer for military contracted manufacturers. The in spec parts go to them and the out of spec parts get sold to the civilian manufacturers.

Things like the trigger, hammer, disconnector, takedown pins, bolt release, selector switch, mag release are all made to AR spec. There are machine shops that make these for everyone under the sun, like LMT, CMT, LAR Mfg and boutique shops catering to the weapon industry. The roll pins and springs are made by the millions across the country and bought in bulk. I can go to my local Ace hardware store and buy the detents, pins, and springs needed for an AR15. They aren’t anything special and quite simple and cheap.

I’ve never heard anything about G&R LPKs, good or bad; in fact this is the first time I’ve heard of them in public.

As of todate I’ve used: G&R, DD and RRR. The G&R is the smoothest operating and best fitting LPK’s I’ve used yet. I only buy G&R and DD from now on…
