Lower Receiver End Plate Spring

Hey guys,

I was putting a Noveske QD endplate on my AR today. In the process of unscrewing the buffer tube, and removed the end plate, the spring popped out, and bent a little bit right at one of the ends. I was able to cut the bent portion off, maybe 10% or close to 1/16 of an inch around that area. I reinserted the spring, and there is pressure on the take down pin to keep it in place. I was just wondering how critical it was to replace that spring with a full length factory spring.

Thanks

You need to replace the spring if you cut it.

Solid. Thank you.
