Lower parts kit information

Regardless of cost, what is the best LPK available? This does not include any two stage match triggers.

I’m asking because I was thinking about installing KNS pins in my SBR lower to help preserve my lower as I will never get rid of it. This made me wonder if the CMT LPK in my lower was up to the job of performing in a lower that will be mine forever and used as a self-defense weapon.

So what does the collective M4carbine.net brain have to say about LPKs?

CMT/Stag

That’s what I thought as well, just trying to pick the collective mind.

Does Colt make their FCG parts in-house or do they outsource them to CMT/STAG?

I think they are made by CMT.

[Off topic] I have some consern with the subject SBR and self-defense weapon in the same paragraph. I wonder if you are setting yourself up for an issue (loss of gun even if you have a good shoot), but then again you may be thinking of using your SBR for SHTF/TEOTWAWKI, where any legal issues are not really applicable. [/Off topic]

I have a RRA LPK that I am happy with. I have a CMT LPK that I am happy with.

I am tempted to get a Geissele DMR trigger, but …

And talk to me about th anti-walk pins?

Nick Collier,at JT Dist. Emailed me and told me that he was the Shop forman for JT Dist. and the LPK are all COLT,''The rest[ springs, pins, etc.] are made by GI Military Contractors. Nick Collier, stated in his email to me that ‘‘Everything that we use is US GI Approved. Nick Collier also stated to me that ‘’ I feel confident that you will be very pleased with our parts’’

I think in my next lower build that I will go with JT Dist. LPK .

I’ve used DPMS, CMT, Bushmaster, RRA, J&T, Eagle Arms (Armalite) LPKs and haven’t had any trouble with any of them. I prefer DPMS as they’ve all worked fine and I prefer the non notched AR15 hammer.

gotM4,
Why do you prefer the “non-notched” Hammers???

In my experience they seem to run smoother in all shrouded and M16 carriers. In other words closer to the original design (M16).

gotm4, have you tried the JT Dist. brand LPK ,they told me it was made by COLT?
