los angeles gang bangers fighting in syria

really?

I expect they got a rude awakening if they thought L.A. made them hard guys. In a bar in Saigon I ran into five nervous, meek Hell’s Angels in full colors. In-Country to source some heroin, they were real worried about meeting their contacts. Friendly unarmed fellows, happy to buy my beer. I nixed their offer to back up the meet. I wonder if they got rich or died trying.

Caravelle?

Nah. Some dive on TU Do street.

Too bad we can’t send all our gang bangers to Syria. I’d even be willing to swap for Syrians who just want to live quiet, peaceful lives.

With any luck they won’t make it back !

Homie gonna get his ass capped over there in that hood.

When we see sneakers hanging on powerlines at street corners in Damascus we know who is behind it.

Hilarious, good one.

Just another reason LEOs should never assume the person they’re making a traffic stop on is just “some dumb gangbanger who will run away at the sound of racking a shotgun”.

“Two members of notorious Los Angeles street gangs have apparently made a global trek – from the crowded streets of LA to the barren battlefields of Syria – to fight alongside forces loyal to President Bashar Assad.”

OK, but why? If anything, I’d see them identifying with the resistance because “the man” is keeping them down and their general dislike of all things civil and authority. Why would they see themselves allied to Assad?

I could see this as some misguided attempt at hardening themselves for some foreseeable future here in the States if they make it back. I think of this and parallels between the cartels and sending their recruits into the Mexican Army to get trained, armed, and then dessert to teach the cartels everything they know.

Didn’t SCOTUS say california needs to release inmates?

Lets send them on over!

I’ve heard that the same thing is happening here. 'Bangers are entering the military and either getting booted after some training, or staying in and banging with whole sets/cliques in a unit. I’m not a .mil guy, but am in LE - has anyone heard of this and can confirm?

I got out in 2001 and can tell you for an absolute fact that we had active gang members in the USN at that time. I’ve read several articles showing pictures of known gang graffiti in many places in Iraq, AFG and many CONUS and overseas bases.

too much of a good idea… would never work.

Tulsa is very happy to send its finest Asian gang members to Syria if needed. Let me know, thanks.

There will be some well trained gangstas to pick battles with the police. Gangstas in the military is old news as the military is just another gang…

If they are trying to acquire training scars, I think they have picked the right place to go.
