The only red dot I’ve ever owned was the 512 eotech. Now looking to get aimpoint and after much reading was going to get the Pro until I held it at the LGS and it’s pretty heavy after you add mount for 1/3 witness. I looked up the specs and it is indeed heavier than 512. Granted I have a DD with a 12inch rail so the run is on the heavy side to start with.
Which led me to look at the h-1 I see great reviews on it and the T-1 (which I don't plan on diving with my AR). What concerns me is the field of view through the 20mm tube compare to the Pro or the 512. Has anyone came from a Pro to a Mirco? Likes/dislikes?
To me the whole field of view thing is overrated considering you shouldn’t really be looking “through” the tube like a scope. Keep both eyes open and its not an issue…especially for us cross eye dominant guys.
The value argument for the PRO really takes the cake, only if you care about optic weight should you’ consider the next best value (H-1 on DD Mount). I adore my H-1’s, those are my favorite reflex optics, but if you don’t feel the micro is better than the 30mm tube, then don’t spend the extra money.
