range, so looking for some knowedgeable help, thanks guys.

If you want a decent, quality red dot sight, keep your eyes focused on the forums equipment exchange. Your not going to find anything new worth a shit for $200-300.

Yeh, you’re pretty much limited to used optics in that price range if you’re looking for top quality, but be aware these things tend to hold their value. You’ll have to look hard to find a truly great deal and $200-$300 is pushing it even for used. You’re best bet for a reliable transaction is going to be here in EE ( https://www.m4carbine.net/forumdisplay.php?f=120 ) . You can try GunBroker or even ebay, but be careful…there are a lot of knockoffs out there when you go outside known reputable dealers. Make sure you know what to look for in a real vs fake RDS.

You’re other option is off-shore imports. Cheaper, depending on how good/reliable you want it to be, you might be be served well by a Primary Arms RDS. The equipment isn’t bet-your-life great, but Primary Arms itself is a very reliable reseller. You might need to get a mount too, so know what you’re buying.

Use this search engine http://riverofguns.com/ to prowl for used Aimpoints. They’re out there.

The role of your firearm should determine which optic you get. If it’s a go-to-war/self-defense firearm, I would save my money until I could afford an eotech/aimpoint. If it’s a range/plinking gun, then I’d recommend taking a look at the bushnell trophy 730135 red/green dot. It has 4 different reticles u can switch by turning the knob on the left side (1moa dot, like a 4 moa dot, a crosshair reticle, and a circle dot like an eotech), 5 brightness settings on red and green, and is lightweight and cheap at around $100. I have one in a single mount that co-witnesses perfectly with my MI BUIS and I love it. I can’t afford to get the best stuff at the moment (college) but this has definitely filled a niche for the now. It stays zeroed for me and I don’t exactly baby my rifle. I’ve had the optic for about a year and have yet to replace the battery. Good bang for the buck if you ask me. Just a thought. Good luck!

While not my favorite, Eotech 512’s are routinely found in the $280-320 range used.

I found my 512 used on here for $300 shipped.

thanks guys, this would be a plinker/shooter, not a go to war type scenario, which I never hopes will happen on our soil, could I get some
brand names in the 200-300 range, just can not do an Aimport or such as my tax dollars has already bought more than one to the ones that need it much more than I, so I’m stuck with the middle of the road, anyone know abour the Vortex SPARC,Truglow which are made in Japan, if at all possible I would like to stay away from China,
yea right, so more help please on choices, thanks again guys:thank_you2:

please no Eotechs, I prefer the Aimpoint type

Dude you’re not going to find an Aimpoint retailing for under $300. Maybe you can find an used older model for about that price or a little more.

Honestly if I were you I’d save up another $100 and grab one of the new Aimpoint PRO’s. That’s what I’m going to do.

This is not my ad, but this:https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=73083 is your answer.

Take a look at the Vortex SPARC.

I have reallly considered the SPARC and the other one by Vortex,

Strikeforce I believe, thanks
