Looking for this Buckle

A friend of mine created his own unique sling from some webbing and hardware he had lying around. Everything is pretty straight forward except one piece (see attached). Its some sort of metal cinch buckle that operates similar to a cam buckle in that when you pull the loose end of webbing it tightens up. When you pull the tab (shown here with a cord attached) it loosens and lets the webbing slide free.

I cannot for the life of me find this buckle anywhere. Im fairly certain it’s military, but have no idea where I can get one. Has anyone ever seen one or know where I can buy one? Thanks in advance.

It almost looks like the buckle that’s for the strap adjusters on the ALICE pack. Spring loaded right? Pull up to release?

That could very well be. I assume it would have to be spring loaded to operate like it does. Unfortunately I’ve never seen it in person. He just sent me this picture. I’m hoping to find a place to buy as they seem to be pretty handy.

Same concept as the VTAC sling. Not a new design by any means. I have had my VTAC sling for maybe 8 years or so. High Speed units in military have been making slings like this for awhile.

I think his application of it is different, not so much the physical components.
