Gainesville is my old stomping grounds. You’re going to have a hard time finding a dealer with room in the safe to store a rifle for 4-6 months. Do you have a family member in the area that can buy it as a gift for you and hold it until you get back?
As for dealers, Picket Weaponry in Newberry always treated me right when I was there, and Gun Gallery in Jacksonville also has an excellent reputation and is known for being a quality “black rifle” dealer.
