I’m in the market for a red dot sight for my new MSAR. Midway is currently selling the 9000L for $274.00 It seems like a good deal to me, but it doesn’t seem like too many people own one(hmmm). So Im looking for info opinions on the 9000L. Also if you have one could you please recommend some rings.

Not the L, but I do have the 9000SC on a DD M4. I wanted 1/3 co-witness using 2 rings (neither Aimpoint nor LaRue advised using a 1-ring mount with the 9000SC–and I wanted to use 2 rings anyhow)…after a lot of research and emails to a LOT of mount/ring manufacturers I ended up with a LaRue rail (LT101) and Leupold Mark IV Tactical (aluminum) high rings (1.04). Combination gives a centerline height of 1.68, which Brian at LaRue said was right in the middle for a 1/3 co-witness (1.6 to 1.7 inches). I’m happy with the set up–rock solid
I’m with Toobroke in that I also have a 9000sc on an AR, but I think I can still offer a little advice. I went with extra-high burris XTR rings that gave me a 1/3 cowitness. However, this combo doesn’t leave much room for a buis. I’m not sure what the longer 9000L would be like. You might try the burris pepr mount since it should mount the aimpoint far enough ahead. Hopes that helps somewhat.
ETA. I didn’t read your post entirely and I just realized this is going on an MSAR. I would guess that you could get away with XTR rings since you have more rail space(MSAR’s do don’t they?).
