I was considering another 1911, but I’m also looking at the H7K USP 45. I’ve got a nice budget, but would like to keep it under 2K.
So which is the wiser choice at this point or am I missing something new I haven’t considered?

S&W M&P 2.0.
Can get a like-new or used-very good LE trade in for about $330. (Hinge trigger)
Or a new optic-ready model with 5.1 in threaded barrel for about $600 last i checked. (Dingus trigger)
I have several of these & really like & carry them.
I realize they aren’t as characterfull as some others. I can’t stand the DA HK triggers though. They’re on-par with the DA trigger of a Makarov or Walther PP.
The 10-8 Masterclass 1911 from Springfield Armory is really nice. I’ve been enjoying one.
The HK45 & HK45C have strong followings. I may get one just to enjoy, and to eat reloads that 1911s don’t like. HK pistols give Tears of the Sun vibes.
Glock will be releasing Gen6 45acp pistols. The Gen6 9mm pistols have been nice. Recently ran a 4 day class with one.
CZ always has neat stuff to look at. A buddy showed me his latest 9mm from them and it was very nicely built.
The Beretta Px4 is an interesting choice. Kind of neat, has a rotating barrel if I remember correctly.
I was a loyal Glock Guy for decades, allowing Gavine Newsom to set marketing and design practices was however unforgivable. So, I will keep the ones I have, but No Mas.
I’m leaning toward H&K because they are just amazingly overbuilt and can handle hot .45 acp.I also considered another BBQ Gun 1911, but I tend to find them “Iffy” and “Persnicity” when it comes to tuning them in.
I really want to stay with something that can handle hot .45’s
A totally impractical pistol I’ve always wanted is the H&K Mark 23. A completely overbuilt tank of a handgun marketed as an “offensive weapon” will handle anything you can put through it.
I regularly see HK45 Tacticals preowned for 50-75% of new. I love shooting mine, but it’s a big beast.
I’m looking forward to a Glock 21 Gen 6. I have been happy with the Gen 6 changes.
HK USP 45 or Glock 21 would be my choice.
I’d vote for the HK 45 too. 1911s are soul sucking pistols that lure you with their looks, but can never be trusted. You should have one, but it’s not a daily driver.
Yes, I bought one as a retirement present to myself and I swore I would never pay alimony again and that gun got me.
In no way a carry gun, but I love my HK mark 23 for back yard plinking. I also find it just generally a cool hun to own from its history and simply what it is from a functional standpoint.
