Looking for a high quality/ lightweight Ar10

Hello, I am looking for some suggestions on a complete .308 rifle that has a high quality look and finish and is fairly light weight.
I was looking at a custom wilson combat tactical rifle (7.5 lbs) but I am not sure if there are better options out there for that price. I reallly like the Jp Lrp-07 ultra light with the Mk III rail but the side lever really isn’t my style and Its pricey (although they do military discounts).

I need: 16” barrel, sleek/thin rail, and I like minimalist stocks but I can replace that easily.

-Oh and this rifle will be used for hunting medium-large game at 100-450 yard and range shooting (will be adding a suppressor so adj gas block is a plus)

How about a POF P308? It seems to check almost your boxes.

Why screw around Knights Armament ACC.

Not many viable options under 8 lb. The small frame .308s will get you there more easily, but they’re of dubious quality or else of an unknown track record. The VSeven complete rifle is spendy, but is significantly lighter than any other factory large frame that I’m aware of: https://www.vsevenweaponsystems.com/16-harbinger-308-rifle/

Personally, I think the KAC ACC or FN SCAR will be the most viable choice if reliability is paramount; a Daniel Defense DDV5 with some dimpling or fluting of the barrel might be an option, too, particularly if you can get someone to replace the factory gas block with an SLR Titanium AGB…

I couldn’t be more pleased with my Colt 901. Reliability has been typical Colt and it is a solid one MOA shooter. Mine is the quad rail version but I believe the slick sided model would be closer to your weight preference.

How would you say the vseven compares to the 2A Armament? Both around same weight

I like the revolution but no customization down the rd if new parts come out.

The S&W M&P 10 is only 7.7 lbs, and people have given it good reviews. You can get them for about $1,300.

Yeh I have seen them in action and they a reliable work horse. I am just looking for something a bit more unique brand wise for this gun.

Have had a M&P 10 for a few years and been very happy with it but like you I wanted something a bit more unique and have a very similar use to you. I looked at them all but eventually I just decided not to screw around and I got a SR-25 ACC

All to often “Unique” simply means “I Paid A Lot More Money”

Precisely, you pay a lot more for a little better quality.

The point is “Unique” doesn’t equal “Better”. It’s just unique. Sometimes it’s better. Usually, it’s not. Just costs more.

Yeh I mean if you are competition shooting you need to spend a lot more on precision rifles (IE- JP Rifles) but I agree you can get good operating guns for cheap.

If $$$ no object here & you want something nice, the offerings from KAC, LMT, or HK will serve you just fine. Pick one & drive on.

I like all of those just a nit too heavy the Vseven would win just because of weight

If you want something a little more “unique” that you can swap in a high-end barrel for later if you decide you need it, I’d also suggest the Aero Precision M5E1 series. They come in right at 8 lbs and are DPMS pattern, so you should have a whole assortment of barrel options available to you.
