Like the title says, Im looking for a 10 rd mag for my AK. I want to keep the rifle in my truck while on the ranch but the 30rd mags are too bulky for me to get the rifle out the window quickly. I saw some Arsenal polymer mags online, but im a bit of an AK newbie and am unsure of their reliability.
Any suggestions? Any metal 10 rounders?
7.62x39mm or 5.45x39mm?
(ETA: I’m assuming you are looking for 7.62 and that you already know about the Hungarian 20 round mags.)
There are 10 round flatback Chinese mags. They are longer than the much more common 5 round mags. You will have to scrounge for them, but they can be had for $10-$20 each when you can find one.
You can also buy Tapco short followers to put in a normal 5 round mag to get to 10 rounds. I wouldn’t, just on principal, but you can.
I would avoid the Arsenal 5/10 round polymer mags. They are not built with the metal reinforcements that are inside the Circle-10 30 round mags. There is no metal in the front lug, floorplate area, or the feed lips.
There are also Finnish 15 round mags that are not much longer than the Chinese 10 round mags. These are harder to come by.

You know, back during the ban days dang near every rifle sold came with some cheesy little 10 round magazine. Now I find myself actually wanting one and can’t find one. I would love to find one from a MAK90 but I’m not having much luck.
I saw a guy at a gunshow that had a pile of steel 10 round ak mags for $10 each and I wish I would have grabbed a couple.
One of my local gun shops has a half dozen or so, but they want dang near $20 bucks for them. Not sure what type they are, but they are 10 rounders.
