Looking for 223 bullets for reloading

I have been looking for 60 grain ballistic tip ammo (hornaday tap for example) for defense and target use. However the prices for the black hills, TAP ect ammo is hard to swallow. So I am going to start loading my own and would like to find bulk bullets and brass. Can anyone point me to a good web site to order from. Serria, Nosler or barnes are some of the brands that I am looking for.

midwayusa.com
grafs.com
powdervalley.com
midsouthshooterssupply.com
natchezss.com

There are others, but these are the one’s I check the most.

G’luck.

I use:

Powdervalley for primers and powder.
SurplusAmmo.com for once fired brass. ($59.99 shipped for 1000)
Midwayusa for bullets.

So partly the list above. SurplusAmmo sometimes has good deals on bullets but it’s hit and miss.

Just out of curiosity are you stuck on 60 grain or is that sort of your minimum weight? I’ve got a decent mental catalog and I don’t recall seeing 60 grains that often outside of FMJ’s - which it sounds like you’re not interested in.

Pats reloading( www.patsreloading.com) has excellent prices on V Max and 75gr BTHP bullets. Sometimes he has pulldown powder and brass. HE usually has primers. THey are great to work with.

I like the 60 grain bullet because I have a Stag arms M-4 with a 1 in 9 barrel. I have read that the heaver bullet weights 69 to 77 grain bullets will not stableize with the slower twist rate. the lighter weights 50 grain and below will not penetrate enough to stop a threat. So the 60 or 63 grain wieght seems to be the best compramise.

check out these guys…
