Long term reviews of PWS MK107 upper?

More out of curiosity than anything, I was wondering if any of our members who have long term experience with the short piston uppers would care to comment. Looking for general lasting impressions and reliability reviews from actual users.
I’ve read all the MK107 related threads we have and most are dated.

A good friend got one last month, he’s only put about 200rds through it. He has a hyper fire trigger group in a pistol lower and says that he needs a comp of some sort but he loves it. Hopefully I can fire it next week let you know more.

I’ve got a 14.5 DI upper from PWS, I really like it. The only thing is that the head space on PWS’ barrels is pretty tight and so I recommend figuring out which bolt to use with it. I had a 158 palmetto state BCG that didn’t always go fully into battery and had to switch it for the WMD nickel boron BCG which works better, FYI

I just passed 3,000 rounds with my mk107 mod1 sbr. Running 100% suppressed with a silencerco saker. Ammo used was 1,000 standard federal green tip and 2,000 prvi 75 grain bthp. No failures of any kind. Occasionally cleaned it within reason with frog lube and that’s it. Still as reliable, loud and obnoxious as the day I got it. I have been very pleased with it and would not hesitate to recommend PWS.

Like have to wear hearing protection loud?

I have an MK107P.

Have not really had the chance to put it to some serious work but it seems to work well enough right now.

Bunch of guys I know have the same upper and have zero issues with it.

PWS is highly recommended as a company.

No long term assessment, as I just got a MK 107 pistol (upper and lower), but it’s a mighty fine running short weapon. I put a couple hundred rounds through it the past weekend, and it runs like a champ. I shot some Hornady 75 gr match, XM 193 and Federal 223. I’ve got two buddies with DPMS 7" barreled DI uppers and the PWS is much smoother with a “rounder” softer recoil impulse. I bought a PWS CQB linear comp to install, but was so impressed with the stock PWS Triad flash hider/comp that I will keep it as is. The Triad essentially eliminates the fireball and is not as concussive as my friends’ with Hera linear comps, and it does reduce muzzle rise by the slot at 1:00 being slightly deeper so more gas exits upward at 1:00. I don’t really think it’s much more conclusive than a standard 16" gun with a Battleomp. I am extremely impressed with the gun.

Here’s an impressive full-auto “torture test” video: http://youtu.be/MZnzSYSGINg

Here’s mine:

I have the 14.5 with a few thousand rounds through it and its flawless! Runs cleaner than any other gun Ive ever seen. They are a GREAT company with great customer service. I believe that their entire line of piston guns is developed off of the 7" barrel (Diablo) so that should promote confidence. My ideal set up is the MK109 in 300 Blackout but im in NJ so thats a dream for me!

Hmmm. I think k I just found my next project in the mk107 once I’m finished with my mk18. Thanks to those who posted
