This quack thinks it causes emotional distress, causes men to not get in touch with their feelings and injuries relationships because they have to take them on a time table.
“Low-self esteem, poor body image and a perception of not meeting the modern ideal of masculinity are driving more men to consume over-the-counter body-building supplements, constituting what researchers believe is an emerging eating disorder.”
Sums up why I use supplements! My legit researcher friends are having a good LOL over this one. At least one sent the author of this worthless paper an email telling them (in proper researcher speak) that he’s full of chit.
Im not surprised by the things pushed on people now a days. That article is bull… How is using supplements a bad thing to achieve the best results possible and to maintin a high level of performance? The only way I could see such a thing as bad. Is if the quality of the supplements is bad. For example if it contains harmful heavy metals.
I don’t doubt that there are men out there who are doing supplements for the wrong reasons. To me this is another hit piece on the supplement industry. It’s like the whole Barbie doll is bad for girls self esteem or porn makes people feel inadequate and all that jazz. A subset of people do experience those issues, but the doll or supplement or video isn’t the root cause. Maybe these smart elecs should spend their time trying to delve dealer into a topic and isolate the true root cause for their lack of self respect instead of taking the easy way out and blaming the first thing they get around to.
