Local range (NoVA) doesn't allow civvies with loaded weapons

My range posted something similar, it goes on and on about concealed weapons not being allowed on the premises. It does NOT however reference Open carry. So I say the hell with it and open carry OWB, the more Fudd skeet shooters don’t like it, but now I do it to spite the sign and the skeet guys.

just one more reason why I joined a private range.

Living where I do, this all just seems so…nevermind.

But there are always other establishments to frequent, correct?

Lowest common denominator nonsense. I’m cool with no handling guns off the firing line, but that’s about it. My range has the same rule…I simply ignore it. Of course, my weapon stays holstered until I’m on the line.

I saw a guy at the range last night wearing blue jeans and shower shoes. No joke. Shower shoes…

I work in a retail gun store w/o a range. We see some scary gun handling. I probably have someone point a gun at me 5 to 6 times a week, most of the time I move WAY out of the way rapidly usually the ones with three digit IQs gets the non-verbal hint. If they don’t and do it again I ask them to leave. Guns are serious business and there’s no reason to not be safe.

Our policy is concealed or open carry is fine and actually encouraged, we’re very pro-2nd Amendment and love our freedom.
Our policy is quite simple… a loaded holstered gun must remain that way in the store. Don’t unload or load a gun in the store. If you’re visiting the store to try on holsters or have the gun serviced please bring it in unloaded. We’ve never had a ND nor AD in the store and we want to keep it that way.

I SAID I WAS SORRY DAMNITALL

I use The Range, too. It’s 4 miles south of where I live, so it’s not unusual for me to go there twice a week. They have some real balls of fire renting pistols to shoot at that place. I don’t blame them for the policy, but they also don’t hassle me or any of the other reasonably competent folks that use the place.

Maybe you should re-look your carry method if you were made that easily rather than blaming Shooters for enforcing their policy?

You’re wrong. I am talking about their policy and discussing it. I am not “blaming” them; it’s their place. I do take issue with not allowing lawful CCW holders to carry loaded weapons yet letting any thug with money to blaze away without even knowing the 4 rules. I note that I mentioned this in my very first post; try reading it again for clarity.

Also wdr, I’m not changing my method of carry to get around their rules. If I meet up with a friend to shoot there, I’ll unload in the parking lot. I carry AWIB. I will follow their bullshit rule.

Is that why we never hang out?

Geez, dude…you coulda said something. People usually love my Clint Eastwood do-you-feel-lucky-punk impression. Hell, Widow Johnson down the street thought it was so funny she pissed herself. 'Course, she was wearing depends anyway so I can’t claim that popping out of the bushes with my .44 magnum was solely responsible for her incontinence, but I’m sure I had something to do with it. She may have been clutching her chest and wheezing on the outside, but on the inside she was laughing her head off. I’m sure that once she gets off the vent she’ll tell everybody how awesome it was.

Thank God…that I got access to land where I can shoot (safely) whenever I want!

The way she tells it, you were packing a .17HMR

It still sounds to me as if you are upset that you were reprimanded for carrying into a location you knew had a no-carry policy for your occupation. The banger issue is neither here nor there and is made to cause people to feel sorry with you, in a location that you knew you should have not have been carrying and you were called on it. Get over it. It nots the end of the world.

WDR, the above shoots your supposition in the ass. It was the beginning of a discussion, as prompted by a question.

Leave your e-penis at the door, nobody wants to compare.

I had no idea until I was told about the policy. Do not question my integrity; I have been forthright with what happened. WDR, the gangbangers are most certainly there as were the numerous safety violation I and my friend reported to the RSO at the time.

I guess it doesn’t bother you that a CCW holder cannot carry a loaded weapon into a shooting range but any thug off the street is not even questioned as to the 4 Rules and is allowed to shoot if he can afford it?

Where do you work? It wouldn’t be at Gilberts, would it? You’re brand new on here but you seem drawn to this thread.

As someone who has been shot, I can assure you that I would rather be around CCW holders than the “safe” crowd at Gilberts on weekend. Will your passion to attack me hold or will you answer with honesty and integrity? There’s folks on here that know me, that have shot with me, and trained with me.

No, it isn’t the end of the world.

It is, however, stupid beyond belief and an indication of a ridiculous mindset that thinking adults should be completely immune to. Someone with a loaded firearm in a holster in the lobby area is not a major safety concern. The yahoos on the shooting line who wave their weapons around, on the other hand, ARE…and that’s where the focus of the safety brigade should be.

Firearms safety is serious business…which is why it’s a bad idea to tolerate nonsense masquerading as “safety”.

A much more sensible rule, one I would be 100% in favor of, is a “no screwing around with guns in the lobby or behind the firing line” rule.

LMAO

After all the arguing, above, I am still not hearing how the piece got “made”? Did you un-holster from concealment to shoot that gun? Did it print? Did you lift your shirt to get you wallet? Give us some details…

I’ve probably been in there 100 times while carrying, and no one ever said anything to me. I’m not a “regular” though because their prices are very high on just about everything.

I’m sure he just saw the butt printing through the thin t-shirt, Shivan. I normally have a heavier shirt on than that. Also, it sure seemed like he was really looking for folks carrying. You know if you’re on key like that from a central vantage point, it’s easier.

I let my membership lapse and only go there when hanging out with my best friend who lives near by. I agree, their prices are high.

I believe my best friend blogged about the unsafe shooters there; I’ll have to find his post.
