Is there some easy way to load the 20& 30 round clips? My old hands have a hard time. It for a Bushmaster ORC M4
First off, they are magazines, not clips. You can load your magazines with clips. You can also load your magazines with a device called a LULA.
I like the Beta
How does that work, Rob? Does the Beta download 5 rounds per push? I have the lula’s and mag lula’s - they are one round at a time…
I use the Cammenga easy loader with excellent results. It loads 20 rounds at once.

For loose rds, give me the Beta Mag 5rd loader. I’ve got a few, stashed in gun cases. The Beta is not perfect, but it works real well.
While I was quite happy with the LULA while in the Cesspool - constantly cleaning / brushing out magazines - I never could get the hang of loading with it.
I use the Beta, both 5rd & stripper clip.
Also use the LULA…its great for unloading mags

A bud showed up with one of them…I don’t know what to think at the moment, other then, it’s NOT light weight.
Beta has two models, one that loads 10 at a time from stripper clips, and one that loads 5 at a time loose. I use the 5 round model as I don’t have time to put all my rounds on strippers first, only to then stuff them into mags later. If you are issued ammo on strippers that is a different story and I’d go with the stripper model.
I find that on GI mags you have to “whack” the Beta loader pretty good to ensure that the rounds all seat, but that with Pmags if you “whack” the plunger you can cause the follower to bounce and the rounds to get crossed. Just press instead of whack and you’re GTG.
I keep several Lulas around, but use them for un-loading rather than loading. I find that they aren’t any faster than my fingers, although they do “save” the tips of your fingers if they’re all you have and you’re doing a lot of loading.
I’ve been quite curious about the mags, but I’m not sure if I want to be the guinea pig @ $39.95 a piece.

we I guess after reading the definition of clip and magazine, the storage area for ammonition on a ship should be called a clip room.
A clip loads the magazine, the magazine loads the firearm. Think en bloc clip like for an M1 Garand, a stripper clip for loading M16 mags or a moon clip for a revolver.

Another often over looked problem is how you load the magazines. On the M16 mags since its a double feed/double column you just press the rounds one at a time on top of each other. I’ve seen alot of people who are accustomed to single feed/double column (think 9mm pistol) who push the round down from the front on top of the next round and then push the round back. Now that’s teedeous.
Loading loose rounds into a AR mag isn’t much of a chore in my book.

I used Beta for a looong time until the movie Airplane came out. It was only available on VHS. I had to make the switch then…
+1 for the stripper clips and spoon. reason i like it is i can store them on clips ready to load. they load fast and putting them on clips is not such a big deal. plus you never know when you might get ammo on stripper clips and need that muscle memory for fast loading.
