Im on a quest to find an LMT stripped lower but its looking like they may be non-existant. Does anyone know of a place I could find one?
They do not offer them stripped. Their lower parts kit/stock is actually of such renowned quality, that I would just buy a complete lower for the prices you can find them at now ($330 - $350).
I agree. They have the best stock safety selector and trigger I’ve ever tried. The trigger is so nice that I’ve gone back to it even after owning the SD-E and SD-3G.
No, unfortunately they aren’t offered that way.
Keep an eye out on the forums, every once and a while they will pop up stripped.
Lauer uppers are half LMT made( see below) (basically LMT lowers with different engravings). If in commiefornia, they come as an OLL.
But, I should note, be careful as Lauer used LMT originally, but switched to “x” company (think it was Stag or something) who could produce the uppers for cheaper.
Generally anything starting with SML in the serial number is LMT made, but double check that. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve dug into the LMT/Lauer contract ordeal. My main lower is 100% known to be LMT, but others may not be. (There were other markings etc that proved it was LMT, + I also contacted LMT on the ordeal).
LMT lowers are beyond great in terms of quality (I’ve compared them to Colt, bushy, Arm.L., Stag, and a few others and they were pretty “rugged” in comparison to the LMT lower I have. BUT, be warned, if your running certain uppers you can get some slop. My AR-57 upper has some decent slop on my lower (but it’s tight as a bird on my buddies Stag lower), but my LMT upper is rock solid on my LMT lower. (but this is actually something that’s more than just LMT lowers, it can happen to any lower when mis-matching IMO).
No better than a D/D LPK IMO, minus maybe a tad in the FCG. Either way, I’d take a CMC or T.ny FCG anyday over either, but then again that’s because I like enclosed units and not something like the G’s trigger kit (I abbreviate hard to spell brand names FYI, but also abbreviate many other things (including simple brand names) just to save the effort on typing on this crappy pencil eraser sized keys keyboard.
