Thanks for the info! Glad to see LMT is rolling out a respectable number of barrel options so fast - they normally seem to move at a glacial pace when it comes to barrels…

Spooky

Very good news. Now the question for me is 18" or 20" SS barrel, and how much can I get for my 16" CL barrel?

There is about to be something else released that should be quite appealing to some;)

Interesting, I was told by LMT that the 20" barrels were done away with due to same accuracy and little velocity increase over the 18" barrels. Thanks a lot for the info. Are those barrels 5r? I will wait for you guys to buy them and post range reports before I buy. Hopefully Kieslers gets them in so I can get a discount

16" SS, 18" SS and 20" SS are all 5R…basically its the same barrel much similar to the 18" SS and 16" SS Rock 5.56 MRP barrels.

Would that be the 6.8 Piston? I didn’t post all the info I had.

Cannot confirm nor deny any speculation about a 6.8 piston:D

I didn’t care so I didn’t post it. I thought most would want to hear about the 5R SS 18" barrels. Especially you Trident since you passed on the gun because you only wanted the longer SS Barrel.

Indeed:)

I am a D.I. guy and kinda miss the 6.8 boat but I imagine quite a few folks would love to see a 6.8 piston mrp conversion kit.

I am gonna grab the .260rem in the beginning and grab the 16" 5R as my second barrel down the road.

Unlike just about every other weapon, the MRP/MWS only gets better with time, the MRP is just now starting to be fully utilized so I cannot even imagine what the MWS universe will be evolved to in 5yrs.

Man $700 is a lot of dough. I know its worth it, but I will probably never be able to shoot to its full capacity anyway so I dont know if I will be investing on these. May be when I shoot out my CL barrel I will replace with these, unless anyone is willing to buy my lightly fired under 200 rounds chrome barrel>:D

I think I will just keep my $ and save up for an SR-25 and be done with it

Thanks for the information. I will have to decide if i need a longer barrel or not.

I have been waiting for this info for awhile. I love the MWS and will pick up an MRP upper as well some time. I am going to get a .243 or .260 in the future. Right now I am going to get the 18 or 20 inch barrel and a Magpul PRS stock.

The 260 REM is a solid cartridge ballistics wise but are you guys planning on reloading for this caliber? Its VERY limited in factory rounds being mostly limited to hunting type rounds, and maybe a couple match listings.

I would reload if i had that barrel.

Will they be threaded for the KAC super tap?

Damn $700…

I got my MWS set up for a CQB role with a M4s and BABC on the stock barrel. I was going to pick up the 18" SS for precision use with my NF 2.5-10, but $700 is a lot of ammo money, and my stock barrel shoots pretty nicely as it is. I think I will have to be very impressed with some range reports to pick one up.

$700.00 is alot of money. I don’t know which to get the 18" or the 20"
Probably the 20" and then I can reach out further than i ever will. I probably won’t ever shoot as far as a 20" barrel can but should I choose to then i could. Going to have to wait until early next year though.

I am leaning toward the 20" as well. I feel like that would safely get me to 1k yards if the chance ever arose. I believe the 18" is just on the short side of 1k, but would be a little handier in my enviroment and shooting ranges. (700yds max)

I had a chat with them about diffrent barrels for the MRP at the end of summer. I inquired about 5.56 18" piston and 6.8 piston. At that time I was told there where no plans for them. I said why not? I was told it would not work with the 18" 5.56 barrel? I didnt understand why but oh well. They just flat out where not considering the 6.8 from the info I got.
