LMT Price Check

New to this site but not ARs. I currently have 2 Stag M4geries, a RRA Predator Pursuit, and a A1/A2 hybrid frankengun. I want number 5 to be all LMT. On TOS, I have been quoted a price of $754 by a dealer for a LMT 16" complete upper with a LMT rear BUIS. All components of this upper are LMT, including the BCG. I feel this is a decent price but am haunted by the feeling I might be able to do better. I’ll be adding a complete LMT lower in the very near future. Opinions wanted on this deal. Thanks much.

ETA: This price includes shipping.

If that price includes hand guards, CH, BCG and BUIS I don’t see how you can do much better.

Aside from the fact that I’d save $30 and get the Larue sight over the LMT (I couldn’t stand the freaking huge knobs sticking out the side of the thing) that’s not bad. I spent a bit more and got a Larue installed on mine from Grant at G&R but you may not want that.

The upper is 100% complete, 100% LMT. I want the LMT sight because it offers elevation adjustment as well as windage. The primary sights of this rifle will be irons. My 2 Stags currently wear ACOGs and I may at some point put one of them on this rifle but that is currently not the plan. This will be my KISS rifle for the foreseeable future. Thanks for the input.

i just bought mine in 3 pieces(upper, lower,BCG) and payed just under $1,000.

all LMT(standard stock and BCG).

that doesnt include a BUIS.

Well, I did it. Poured myself a tall glass of the LMT kool-aid. Ordered the previously mentioned upper yesterday, and a complete LMT lower today. I sincerely hope LMT’s quality and reliability is everything it is made out to be, because I just paid through the ass for it. My Stag’s and RRA have been completely trouble free, so I have very high expectations for my LMT based on what I (comparatively) paid for it. We’ll see. This is my fifth and final AR, and I intend for it to be the flagship of my fleet so to speak.

As soon as Magpul decides to release the UBR I can call it done (for now).

That’s too bad, would have saved you at least $50 on the upper.

I don’t doubt it. I actually found the upper (slightly) cheaper at two other places as well. I’ve done previous business with this dealer and have always had excellent results and customer support. The familiarity I have with this dealer is worth it to me.

One question is if the people on this forum are good enough to ask questions from then why not buy from them?

Mind if I chime in? I like being able to get a lot of opinions and “assertions of fact” to investigate, verify and potentially utilize. When it comes to my hard earned dollars, I want to be sure I’m sending it somewhere where they understand how hard it is for me to earn it. I will only send my cash where I will get good value with respect to price, service and support. If the product I’m purchasing through the internet isn’t supported by a brick and mortar business that will be there tomorrow, I won’t make any tall dollar purchases from them.

I can understand and agree with both sides of the argument. I personally don’t mind purchasing from a legitimate internet dealer, especially if they pass on substantial savings to me. The way I see it is that I buy some things locally when urgency is the priority but when I have the luxury to shop around I look for the BEST PRICE. Chances are if I get good service then I will be a repeat customer in any case, but an example is that a local gun shop was charging excessive prices for firearms. Generally I would support local B&M if the price is nearly negligible (within $100) but I’d be damned if I were to pay $1800 for a S&W MP15T. That may be an extreme case but it’s fact nonetheless. Local shop will still be able to make money from me from ammo, accessories, and service. I refused to be ripped off knowing what certain products should be priced.

That said I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from any of the dealers here if I were looking for a product they carried. I’ve gotten tons of good information here about products I use (and those I may never use) on these boards. There’s a lot of experience and information here that even the general military doesn’t really provide concerning the AR platform. I really think that they should though considering how we are at war, the increased deployments for all military over yesteryears, and the complete integration of Active Military and Guard/ Reserves.

Most of the dealers on here are brick and mortar. Im not but I dont do this for a living but the Federal goverment thinks enough of me to allow me to do it and the manufacturers as well. In terms of service if you have a problem with a Colt you send it back into Colt etc.
Im not on this board trying to drum up business as im here to learn and share what I can. But what does bug me is that someone like Grant is on here, pays part of the bill to keep the website up and going, gives a great amount of good information and someone will go “hey thanks Grant for the info I bought one from this place”. It seems like a kick in the balls to me. This isnt the case with the OP as he is new here and im sure dosent know Grant is a dealer.

LOL, you are becoming wise and or informed about the world of internet sales. What I am about to say has NOTHING to do with the poster and or anyone participating in this thread.

I am CONSTANTLY asked my opinion on gear, weapons, training courses, custom builds, etc, etc. I get these questions via e-mail, phone, PM or on forums. I spend a lot of time answering questions and helping people (to the best of my ability). Often times, after they have sucked out all the info they need, they then start to price shop for a dealer that is $5-10 dollars cheaper than we are.

Not being a smart ass, but after you help them ,can you just say you will match any other venders price on the same item?(adco, bravo company, ect ,ect) not sayin these veders do it(price match) but if you see they have it 5 or 10 bucks cheaper,Is it not worth it to drop your price to get another customer?I have bought items from you and have allways been happy with your service.

If you spend your time answering technical questions and pricing all kinds of different options would you really want to then have to price match some other dealer that most likely knows little to anything technical about the product? So what it boils down to, is how much is your time worth? Mine is worth a lot.

Now if a customer comes to me out of the blue and asks me to price match an item, I will most likely do that.

I agree,That why i was saying vender’s like Bravo company,ADCO ( I also agree that if you take the time to help the person and its only 5 to 10 bucks more they should, just buy it from the person that is willing to help them)Case in point, i just bought an item from a vender here that is $50 MORE then some other well know venders.I have no problum giveing the extra cash to a good vender to support them and keep them going.Even if they dont have the lowest price.

People often only look at the bottom line when shopping for gear. They never take into account customer service and product knowledge.

im new to the M4/AR’s.

i appreciate you answering my questions(PM’s).

although ive been happy with my recent purchases from another online dealer,i have been looking for someone closer to my area.ive heard nothing but good things and intend to make some purchases soon(early next month).

thanks.

Agreed,Also, most(not all) people will NOT buy the highest quality gear/products they can get, they want whats good enough. When 99.99% of the time its CHEAPER(in the long run) to just buy the best gear/ product the FIRST time around.

You hit the nail right on the head on what I was trying to get accross.
