LMT or Colt M4 A3 6920 upper (both 1/7 twist and 16")

New member…first post. Recently purchased an LMT Defender 2000 lower. Of the above uppers, which do you recommend…and why? Thank you.

Do you see yourself diving with it in the future?

What? Diving?

They are both excellent quality, I would probably buy the LMT if I already had the LMT lower.

I have had both Colts and LMTs in the past. Both are excellent quality. Since you have the LMT lower I would go with the LMT upper.

i also have both, and agree both are first-class, dependable rifles. i’d personally get a lmt upper to match my lower,YMMV [i swear the lmt is smoother, like closing the door on a cadillac versus closing the door on a 1963 plymouth]

Both will serve you very well. However, I note that if you get the MRP upper it will likely be around the same price as the Colt and you will get things like rails, the ability to swap barrels, etc. that you either do not get with the Colt or you have to add aftermarket.

Don’t see how you can go wrong in the end though…

Thanks for all responses.

Depending on price, the Colt.

He’s talking about park under the FSB I assume.

Though I prefer park under the FSB anyway because it does help keep the FSB from sticking to the barrel when rust gets in there. Made taking an RRA upper apart for a friend a real bitch.

Another vote for an LMT upper. Check out the MRP versions.

LMT. The fit and finish on LMT products i’ve owned have been excellent.Plus,an LMT upper will match with your lower.

Making the assumption that they are both M4 type uppers: The LMT. Unless the cost of the Colt is the same/close then I would spring for the Colt.

If it was a Light weight Colt setup (a 6520) I would go with that and swap out the A2 upper for a flatop.

-why are you not looking at a BCM 16" middy upper? I have one on my LMT defender 2000 with SOPMOD and love it.
