LMT LPK's....out of spec parts?

I was wondering if anyone has had any negative experiences with the LMT lower parts. I am going to be ordering a few kits, and I like LMT parts, and like the fact that I can get them minus the fire control group.

But, I have been informed by a friend, that he had some issues, where the bolt catch wouldn’t fit into the slot on his lower. He also stated that the safety wasn’t ideal, but it did fit into the receiver. He is experienced in assembling lowers, so I don’t think its a case of incompetence.

Anyone else have out of spec LMT lpk’s?

LMT is a top tier manufacturer. His lower may have been out of spec.

Who is the distributer the lower, in other words, what rollmark does the lower have on it?

Well, he said it was a Mega lower, and he tried the bolt catch in three different lowers, with the same result. I know, it seems unlikely, just wondering if others had the same experience…

Im curious on where you are sourcing lmt lpks, im a dealer and im unaware they were available.

Was an inquiry submitted to LMT about the possibility of out of spec parts in their LPK? Was the LPK purchased directly from LMT?

LMT doesn’t carry lower parts kits in their store either under parts or accessories pages.

Was an inquiry submitted to the vendor? I hope that he didn’t receive the LPK in the link…it doesn’t have a roll pin for the bolt catch in it.

He did say he contacted the vendor for another matter, but I think he is just going to find another bolt catch elsewhere.

I’m pretty sure G&R would replace it for nothing even though resourcing it isn’t going to break the bank.

Hopefully, he checked the lower to make sure it is in spec, or doesn’t have a build up of the finish in the bolt catch slot that he hasn’t noticed.

I had a LMT safety that turned my 2-stage Geissele high-speed into a weird 3 stage. Instructions for the Geiselle trigger say that out-of-spec safeties can cause this and provides locations for sanding on non-critical safety surfaces. I purchased a BAD-ASS safety a week later and the replacement safety did not have any issues with the trigger group. On that LMT safety the “notch” on the magazine-release side of the rifle (the visual indicator of what condition the safety is in) was very unevenly machined. This was in a Rainier forged lower.

If your buddy wants to come here and make his own post, he can. I’ll assume that he never made and attempt to contact GandR acout the issue?

Grant has been putting these together and using them for a couple of years and I don’t remember any complaints being made. Not saying it can’t happen. But, if someone doesn’t tell someone then it can’t be fixed, can it?
