LMT LM8 MWS barrel change question

Couldn’t find anything on this so here goes.

I received a new LM8 today. I pulled the CL barrel from the LM8 – no problem. Then I pulled my stainless steel barrel from another MWS and tried to put it in the LM8 (the stainless has the surefire adaptor for my 7.62SS). But I can’t get the front bolt back in (the rear bolt is fine). It appears that it will not catch on the threads. I tried to put the CL barrel back in and finally got it but it took a long time (30 minutes) and was a pain.

I have several MRPs and I have never had any problem like this before. Tried both CL barrels and SS barrel on the older MWS with no problem.

Anyone have similar experience? Thoughts on a fix?

I have an older MWS and just got a new .338 Fed barrel for it. Other than over torquing one of the bolts, I had no problems.

I would call LMT. They have phenomenal service and might have some ideas as to what id going on.

Thanks for the suggestion. Ran through a few suggestions and have ended up sending the upper and the stainless barrel back.

I had a similar problem when I bought a 18" SS 5 r barrel and installed it and stripped the shit out of the retaining bolt. I shipped the upper back. They have excellent CS.
