LMT BCG

I am currently running a 16 inch LMT MRP. I have a 10.5 inch barrel inbound. I am planning on suppressing it later this year. Should I get a new BCG for the 10.5? Or can I run the same BCG for both the 16 and the 10.5?

I never swap used BCG’s between rifles. Grant from G&r tactical has a good thread about the 10.5 with LMT enhanced BCG’s

Do you plan or swapping barrels on a regular basis or are you simply going to swap the 16" for the 10.5" when it arrives? If you are planning on swapping regularly I highly recommend you not doing it. Get two dedicated uppers.

What kind of LMT BCG is it? Semi? FA? Enhanced?

I was looking at changing them back and forth. But after researching a bit more, I see another upper is probably best for a SBR.

Currently running a semi.

I would have a dedicated barrel / bolt.

So keep your existing bolt with the 16" barrel and get a new bolt for the 10.5" barrel.

This is what I was thinking. But I would like to see if anyone is running a setup swapping between the 10.5 and the 16, and if they are using the same BCG. I figured this is the reason for the MRP platform to interchange your rifle to suit different situations. But I also understand the differences in a SBR and a standard AR.

I sent a email to LMT to see what they suggest. I would like to know before my 10.5 arrives…
