Does anybody know if LMT unit is any different from the Stag/CMT ambi selector? From the photos I have been able to find online, it looks like the design is the same. Any difference in quality? If the two are the same, I’ll just order a Stag selector since I can find one. If the LMT is higher quality, does anybody know where to find one? My Google-fu is not yielding satisfactory results.
Also, if there is a better design of ambi selector out there, please englighten me. I have a Stag selector in another rifle and am pleased with the design. If the screw does happen to fall out (it’s lock-tited and properly torqued, so it shouldn’t), the right side ear of the selector will fall off, but will have no impact on the selector’s function. The DPMS design looks to me like the right-side piece extends into the receiver and functions as the right-side bearing surface. I’ve heard the selector will still function without the right side, but it’s iffy at best. Not a chance I’d like to take. Also, I haven’t heard great things about the quality of that one.

The LMT seems to have a larger screw, and looks “rougher” for lack of a better word. Both are very functional.
Grant has the CMT and Rainier has the LMT.
Or did, I ordered one a few weeks ago from them.
Rainier is out of the LMT selectors. They did have the Noveske end plate I was looking for, though.
G&R and Rainier did have photos with a high enough resolution for me to determine that the difference in finish quality between the CMT and LMT selectors isn’t great enough to make a difference to me. Looks like there will be another CMT selector in my future. Thanks guys.
Here’s my 2 cents, although I have never used the ambi selector… GO WITH THE LMT! The selector that came in my LMT Defender lower is smooth as butter (seriously). It made the RRA selector in my other gun feel stiff and gritty in comparison. Since LMT selectors really can’t be found on the market (except for the ambi), I decided COLT would probably be of equal quality. So, I ordered one from SAW. It has a pretty good feel and is pretty smooth, but still does not compare to the buttery smooth feel of the LMT.
Also, LMT is proud enough of their product, they put their name on the selector. Wish I could just find one of the standard selectors. BTW, the COLT selector is reversible, it operates from both the left or the right.
