For those in the Seattle area, wanted to link a thread here from the Misc Course announcements for a few upcoming clinics in the Seattle area being run by Kevin Williams of LMS Defense. Here’s a link to the original thread: http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=103231
I’d originally hoped to attend the Pistol clinic but family obligations will prevent me. That said, Kevin runs a great class and these one days classes are perfect for those of with busy schedules and/or limited training budgets.
I attended the Carbine Clinic yesterday. It was a great class. I’m new to the AR platform, but not to shooting. Kevin did a great job not moving too fast for a newb like me, but not too slow for those who have been around the block. There was a good mixture of new shooters and experienced shooters. For the experienced shooters it seems to have been a great “back to basics” class, and for those of us new to the system it was a great “learn the basics” class.
We did a good amount of shooting - roughly 500 rds. I now know how to zero my rifle. I know how to clear multiple malfunctions. We went through various basic and non-basic shooting positions. We shot as far back as 200m and as close as 7 yrds (various other ranges in between). I now know how to aim my red dot and irons for accurate hits up close and accurate hits as far back as 200m. (Disclaimer - my accuracy at 200m needs additional practice). We did some timed shooting focusing on accuracy and speed. We also drilled using multiple targets. It was a great class - FULL day. Time and money well spent.
