little help with rifle length gas issue

Having some short stroke issues with a new gun, have checked everything out and can’t seem to figure out why its having these problems other than the gas block maybe. was a cheap block, and when i installed the tube it had an abnormal angle, 80 degree angel coming out of the block. had to pull up on tube to get it to go into barrel nut and into receiver. have ordered a new block now just to try it out but was wondering if a carbine tube,j spring and buffer would create this type of issue? i don’t think it SHOULD create an issue, but could it? have also put a cleaner through the tubed double even trippled checked the block alignment, plugged chamber and there are leaks around tube where it goes into block and between block and barrel. anybody have any other tricks up their sleeve i could try? thanks

If you have a rifle length gas system then you need a rifle length gas tube. Cheap blocks are cheap for a reason.

Do you mean Carbine Extension and carbine buffer and spring? It should be fine. Hell the Canadians use a carbine stock and 20" barrel without issues.

It sounds like it’s the cheap gas block. Report back once the new one is installed.

Good luck.

Something is wrong. You should never have to apply pressure to align the gastube with the receiver. If it doesn’t line up something is crocked. Possibilities I see most likely are that your:
Gastube is bent
Gasblock is misaligned (easy mistake)
Gasblock has the gastube hole drilled improperly

Try a different gasblock.
