I will probably get one of the 686s whenever I come across one. I’ve got a .44 Mountain Gun already–my only issue with it is I find I treat it like a .44 Special +P, because it’s a handful with magnums. I appreciate a full size N frame for target shooting and hunting, and while I think the short barrel N frames are very cool, I’ve never shot them particularly well and these days I find a Glock 20 to be the ideal “Mountain Gun” for my purposes.
Great looking mountain gun, will probably grab a 686 as well.
A couple notes…
Thank god someone is working with S&W on these kinds of projects, seems like they can’t get out of their own way these days.
I really can’t believe they had those examples with poor fitting grips in this informational intro video. It was all I could see and based on the price they’ll be at, the grips should fit much better.
