man, what a great shot. anyone know the distance?
Off like a switch, so what do they mean AR variant for PARAFAL? I am not familiar with Brazilian arms.
It’s not an AR variant, the guy who posted probably just defaulted to what he knew.
The FN FAL came in a couple Paratrooper models. Brazil built FAL’s under license from FN for decades.
Here’s an example of a Para FAL.

FAL as a sniper rifle? Great shot! I shot one before not a para though . . . some century that my friend got up and running. I like FALs if I ever go 7.62NATO/.308. Thanks for clearing that up because I was wondering if there was some AR I did not know about in this world.
BTW that is one nice FAL
FAL’s have been used as designated marksman’s rifles and “sniper” rifles for decades, with varying success. The DSA scope mount is about the best way to mount an optic on one.
I just sold this set up to Boss Hog here on the forum, although I kept the Kahles scope…

Might want to check this thread to see what one guy new to FAL’s could do with one…

Apologies to Hoploethos for the partial hijack of his thread. Good shot.
Learn something new everyday. I didn’t do bad with one, but not that good I admit. I was irons though with Monarch ammo at 100 yds. Good enough to hit, but not impressive. Now I know better though . . .
Anything to indicate that the rifle in question was even scoped? Maybe a really good shot over the irons, perhaps?
Well done either way, I reckon.
I believe the video said the shooter was across the street on one of the balcony’s. I’d say that more than likely the shot was taken between 50-75 yards. Outstanding shot and perfect SA to realize the time was at hand at it was not the time to hesitate.
I am surprised no one has said “HEAD SHOT!!!” yet
That’s gotta hurt…
The BG tried to rob a postal truck and ran into a pharmacy to evade the police. The reporter says that you can’t see the shooter, but he was in the building across the street.
At no time in the does the reporter mention what type of weapon was used.
Edit: Found this in a Brazilian news report.
“No tiro de ontem, Busnello usou um fuzil brasileiro parafal 7.62mm, com luneta telescópica.”
That is one nice FAL. FMJs-of-Freedom
Excellent shot.
“Walk it off son.”
Until I started traveling to Brazil a few times a year, I never would have guessed how heavily armed their police force is. Nothing like walking past a bored cop holding a belt-fed machine gun.
