Light recomendations for my M&P 9C

I was wondering what you folks think would be a good light for a M&P9C. I was using the search function and found a picture of a TLR-3 on a 9C, and it looked pretty solid.

I have been carrying a M&P standard with a surefire x300 in my pocket and a surefire backup in my other pocket, but as the months have been getting hotter I have gone to my M&P9c with an appendix carry and I do not have a weapon mounted light for it. I just carry my surefire backup and surefire defender.

I am a HUGE surefire junkie, and am a little hesitant to try another light out, but surefire does not seem to make a minilight for the compact guns.

Any thoughts on this? I am thinking the TLR-3 based on looks alone … last time I did that I bought an M6 and it was a piece of crap. About 3,000 rounds into it … it fell apart shooting out of my glock 21. Then I bought an m6x … and about 2-3 months (4,000 rounds probably) it fell apart as well … I was not happy… then I went with a surefire x200 … and it was love at the 3,000 round mark.

I broke my TLR3 when i mounted it on my carbine, i over torqued the nut when i simply wasnt paying attention and ended up cracking the plastic flange off of the gun. It was entirely my fault.

Having said that, the replacement has worked absolutely fine through a ton of rounds on my 9c and it works.

You’re REALLY limited in light options for this little creature so i would say that given whats available the TLR3 is definitely a good option.

The newer viridian C5L looks nice as well but im not sold on a green laser and having never had an opportunity to work with the activation method for the light itself i cant really recommend it. Also, the unit itself is terribly expensive…

Thanks for the reply! I will probably go with the TLR-3 it sounds like a solid idea. Surefire needs to get off its butt and make a light for the little guy =P
