Light Mount question

So im looking to move away from the tape switch type light and start using my 6P on my rifle. I want to mount it at the 2oclock position as far forward as possible. That last time I had it mounted, the mount I was using didn’t allow it to be up next to my troy flip up sights on a RIS II.

Does anyone know of a mount that’s offset enough to allow this?

The IWC/Haley Strategic mounts might do what you need. I did have some issues using the thorn-tail with my Troy flip ups when I was limited to just a top rail.

The drop wing version probably should clear it though, or if you have a side rail.

If you use a clicky tailcap, you can also just push the light forward in the ring to get to where you need with most any mount. The problem with doing this without the clicky is that if you lock the ring down over the tailcap you can interfere with the switching mechanism.

I can’t be 100% certain as I use KAC sights instead of the Troy’s you reference, but the Gear Sector 6P mount I have works well. Close enough, but enough room for the sights. I run mine @ 11, but it would do the same thing on the other side @ 2. There is an entire sub-forum here about lights and lasers and a stickied thread about various light mounts. You might check that out.

Just bought a GS mount from another member. Hopefully that will work out. Im still thinking itll be a little tight. Maybe ill just need to switch out to KAC sights.
