Light Colored Gear

I have decided that black gear bags are a mistake. I have the eagle industries pro shooters bag and I love it, BUT it is black and finding glock mags or “tactical” anything in it is a nightmare if it isn’t noon.

I have decided that all future gear purchases will be Khaki or better and would even like to replace my current bag. Do you have any suggestions that will work as well in a lighter color?

I use EI khaki gear and love it…well made stuff and very durable!

Sparky

Tans are always good. I’ve also seen bags from some companies with a high-vis orange lining, for emergency use in the field and to make finding contents easier.

Note on “khaki”: EI’s khaki is a traditional old-school khaki, and much more green than brown. You’ll see this elsewhere too.

I like more civvy-friendly colors in gear bags, but the mil colors are easiest to find and will do the job.

My range bag is black as I’m not having to blend into my environment. My BOBs are always a solid usually FDE or OD.

You can salvage what you have by getting a light colored gear insert – all your black stuff will contrast.

I don’t care about blending either, the issue is my gear blending in with the bag.

That would be awesome if I could find one that fit. I would even pay for the whole bag though if I could find one that was as nice.

Turn the bag inside out and spray paint the interior a nice bright color. Instead of regular Krylon, try the auto parts store for paint you can use to recolor or retouch auto interiors, so it’ll stick to cloth better.

I have to agree the black interiors of bags are simply a Black Hole for me. If I didn’t carry a SF L1 on me I wouldn’t be able to see the rifle in there half the time:p
