LF a good Range bag

Ok so it really isn’t “tactical gear” but I am trying to find a good range bag so I am not using a back pack all the time. Would like something that has a dedicated area for my pistol and would like to keep it around the $100 dollar mark.

Thanks!

Midway USA and they have them on sale frequently:)

Here is my Range Bag. Normally I have minimalist load out but I grabbed everything I could possibly think of using related to training/range trips and tried to see if it would all fit.

  • Cleaning supplies and spare parts
  • Shot timer and measuring tape
  • belt
  • Magazine pouches
  • Notebook, pen, printed targets, tape
  • Gloves
  • Dump Pouch
  • Staple Gun & Staplers

Things that measure… things that clean/lube are in the opposite pocket

Things that maintain equipment, targets, self
There is a detachable key chain that is in this compartment.

Targets

Dirty Underwear.
Space is approx 15.5"x12"x2.5~3"

A way to lock the compartment to satisfy state law regarding transportation of dirty underwear.
For extra low speed you can stow a lockable case in the compartment and forgo the external lock.

SwissGear SA1923 ScanSmart Backpack ~$80.00.
I bought mine at BestBuy so I would highly recommend to go take a look and see if you like it before buying it.

Water clips onto the back and there is still alot of room in the main compartment for extra Ear/Eye Pro or a softshell.

midway I have both sized ones use the smaller more or even craftsman green soft side wide mouth tool bag I used those alot

I use an iSHOT bag I bought here on the EE. Very good construction.

This.

Best bang for your buck at $39.99

I went to Home Depot, and for less than $20, I picked up a “Husky” brand tool bag that is almost exactly the same size as most pistol range bags. The entire interior and exterior are lined with pockets that fit Glock mags perfectly.

I also like the fact that it does not look like it has a gun in it (although people like to steal tools too).

This. Becuase a “range bag” isn’t something that I personally have to entrust my life to, I didn’t worry so much about getting one that was of “approved quality” or that was super overbuilt. Instead, I just got one that gets good reviews and has the features that I want.

I’d been running one of the Midway range bags for several years now, and very satisfied. It’s tough enough, well built, affordable, and has a good set of pockets, mag holders, etc.

they have these for $39 at my local Sams Club…

I love my Larue Tactical range bag. Its a little bit over your limit but they have a smaller one thats under $100.

I’ve been using Maratac XL EOD bag for a couple years and it has been great. It has Shoulder strap, carry handle, decent zippers, pals on the exterior, two large magazine type pockets and a mesh pocket on the inside. You can find them on CountyComm website.

Midway. I got the 5.11 one for Christmas which is like $100, but apparently the same exact thing aside from logos. Its simply awesome as a range bag. And the Midway comes in different colors…

I’ve been using a bail out bag from lapolicegear.com for $20. It is a great small range bag with lots of pockets and a velcro sleeve pocket for your pistol. They also have a larger one for $30 if you need more space. I’ve been using mine for about 6 mos. and it is solid. Best range bag for the price i’ve ever seen.

Midway USA Compact Range Bag… Its not compact… Its huge, well priced, and heavy duty. I carry Two .45’s, a 22/45… Two sets of muffs, plenty of ammo and accessories no problem.

My competition range bag came in today and I have to say WOW what a nice bag!! It is huge and has a ton of pockets. I really like the small insert bag that will be great for taking to the line with me and the brass pouch is cool too. Great bag and at $50 shipped not a bad price either.
