Considering the death toll, that one got surprisingly little attention. FRONTLINE documentary investigates the event, and finds, per usual, there was no lack of signs dude was going in a bad direction. Sounds like paranoid schizophrenia, which they are suggesting secondary to TBI and PTSD. People did try and help and credit to the makers of this documentary, they don’t just blame it on access to guns as the source of all such events and gun control the way to end them. That he was in the mil made it more difficult apparently. There was several key points where the event could have been avoided, and humans being humans, dropped the ball by passing the buck:
Being I live in Maine, The military failed, The state troopers failed and the local sheriff that saw him walking around in the house after he was order to retrieve his guns.
It 100% could have been avoided if someone did there job.
Which sums up 99% of these events, but it’s so much easier to blame the tool used and call for more gun control. To their credit, that’s not what they do in that documentary.
Exactly. Seems like all of them has been on some kind of list, but “failure” seems to be the thing to do. To put my tin foil hat on, But i think they let them slip thru the cracks so they can push the anti gun agenda.
Good ol Mills said she was going to stop opening day for deer hunting during the man hunt for him. Hunting is a big deal in Maine, whole state FU and were going to hunt anyways.
