I purchased this Leupold Tactical Prismatic second-hand. It was advertised as in “like new” condtion and indeed, that seemed the case when I received it. The only evidence that the scope had been used were some scuff marks on the mounting base where the mount was assembled and mounted to a rifle. The scope itself, body and glass, was in perfect condition.
On my first trip to the range with this mounted on my AR, I noticed some specs on the glass. Upon returning home, I discovered these specs were on inside lens surfaces. A bit of online research revealed some others who had this same problem.
I contacted Leupold and they advised me to send the scope in for repair. I sent the scope and all of the packaging, mount, illuminator, etc. to them. As seen on the work order below, they essentially made this a new scope. They also included a complete new mount package and if I’m not mistaken, a new illuminator module as well. Basically, this is now a new-in-box scope. The only give away that this is not a new scope is the original box that it came in, which had shipping labels and clear packing tape placed on it by the person I purchased it from.
Though I do like the Prismatic, I have since gone with a 1.25-4X scope on the AR so I have decided to part with the Prismatic. These go for $495 new plus shipping - I am asking $395 shipped via USPS Priority Mail in CONUS. PayPal is good, contact me via PM or email if interested.
