Let's talk suppressors.... before I buy another

I already have an AAC SDN6 and I am contemplating another purchase. Since this is the only suppressor I own of course I have mounts on my 3 rifles for it. I have however been looking at purchasing more cans and I’m at a cross roads. So the question is, do I keep with AAC, or move to another offering like Surefire? I ask because the AAC is the only one I have experience with. The only issue I’ve had is when I used it on a LMT MWS and noticed a significant shift to the right, almost 6 inches, when the can is on? Id like to have a can where I dont have this happen on any rifle especially, since I want to stretch a few rifles out this summer. Any opinions or thoughts would be helpful.

Saker with a 51T mount.

TBAC?..

I’d say saker with the aac 51T adapter. sakers are built like tanks and with the interchangeable front caps then I’d say it’s a very solid contender. A customer had a saker 7.62 with the front cap for a 5.56 and it was very quiet on the array of rifles that he owned.

I will definitely take this into consideration. How does the mounting system work? Their website is kind of vague.

There are a couple of vids on youtube and you can see it locks up on the teeth a bit differently than an AAC can’s ratchet. It sounds like it works well, possibly better than AAC’s lockup.

The maad mount for the 51T adapter isn’t cheap by any stretch, but well worth it’s weight if you have tons of other 51tooth muzzle devices. Their trifecta mount is pretty simple from what I’ve seen from silencershop’s youtube page, but all you do is remove the trifecta mounting point from the can, and screw on the 51t maad mount, and you’re good to roll.

I got the YHM mount for both of my Sakers. In each case the dealer sold me the YHM mount instead of the standard MAAD mount and trifecta muzzle device, so it cost me $0 extra to go that route.

Silencer Shop offers the other mounts when you buy a can, and I had a local dealer call SiCo and got one swapped out to help him make the sale.

I would not buy a Saker with 51t. A Saker is essentially the same thing you already have(aprox 7.5" 20ish oz multi-cal can with “similar” db ratings). If you are desiring another can than you have to ask why. Either you want versatility in size/weight or you want a newer/better mounting option.

I guess if I were you I wouldnt go buy another similar can from a competitor just to have another.

Well my thought process is this. I have one can… That can is 30 caliber. I have 2 .30 caliber rifles and 2 5.56 guns. I notice that the mount on the AAC stuff tends to have a bit of wobble. So, my next cans will be 5.56. With that being said I am only 2 muzzle devices deep so if there is a better can and mounting option it won’t bother me to change up. I need to do this before I buy another can though.

I’d buy a Rimfire can and expand my caliber coverage before investing money into redundancy. If you’re not into Rimfire get a dedicated 556 can.

I agree

agreed, I have a 762-SDN-6, a M4-2000 and a YHM MITE 22cal for my rimfire guns. I’m set on cans.
