if i’m running an Aimpoint Micro on a DD 1 o`clock mount, which ACOG would make the most sense? TA31, TA11, TA33-8?
do so many people run the TA31 with a MRD because it works so well, or because the TA31 handicaps you in dynamic shooting situations so much that the MRD just becomes necessity?
i’m thinking that the TA31 might make sense for me if backed up by a Micro. the TA31 has a very compact size for being a 4x32. it also has very good FOV.
its weakness is obviously the ER, but if i have a parallax free T1/H1 with unlimited ER, wouldn’t that pretty much negate the TA31’s major drawback?
the only time i could see this set-up causing me problems would be lying strong-side, in urban prone and being unable to cant my rifle properly because of some sort of obstacle.
would a TA11 + Micro give me better flexibility, or would there just be too much glass & weight going on with that set-up? do you even need a MRD with the TA11 or TA33-8? does the Binden Concept and generous ER of those two models give you enough speed on its own without the need of another optic?
the way i see it nothing is faster than a dot type optic, so i really would like to try the dual optic thing and see if its for me. i already have the micro, so i might as well at least try it if i’m planning on buying an ACOG (the “planning” phase never seems to end tho)
i’m sorry for asking so many ACOG questions. there are just so many options and so many of them seem so viable and with their own individual merits.
