I took these a while back and forgot to share with the class. Can you guess what’s going on here?
Since I never bothered to complain to the manufacturer, and give an opportunity to make it right, I won’t disclose their identity… but you wouldn’t be shocked. Suffice it to say this was some pretty effin’ essy QC.

I had a friend who owned an open ipsc pistol. the ports had this burrs. I forgot how the smithy removed them. but firing won’t help. it will just rip the jacket and you end up with lousy accuracy. that was from a pistol. just imagine what it will do to a rifle.
it’s a gigantic burr- when i first saw it i figured it was just shavings and would knock right out. some of it did knock out fairly easily with a cleaning rod, but it was obvious that most of the mass was still pretty attached- it’s almost like they drilled it with a punch.
fortunately, i’d only bought it just to have it, and it’d already been sitting around unused for a bit before i noticed. a guy offered me a SOPMOD in trade, said he could ream it- i love SOPMODs.
