Personally, I think she has too much baggage(Bill) to even win the Democrat nomination. Nevermind actually becoming the first woman President.
Do you really think she can win on 2008? If so please explain.![]()

Bill isnāt baggage in the eyes of the Democrats. I think she is the front runner barring any disastrous happening.
As far as the Presidency goes, if the Republicans donāt put up a strong candidate with strong stances on issues or if a third party candidate enters the race, she has a better than 50-50 chance at winning the Presidency.
The only question that matters right now is, āDoes she have a shot at the Democratic Party nomination?ā
Sure she does ā some polls have her with >40% (as I recall), which puts her >2:1 over Obama. A few caveats, though.
First, most of those polls are national. Primaries and caucuses are conducted by state. And we have no idea what effect the results of the earliest primaries will have on subsequent states.
Second, itās absurdly early in the nomination process. While I take pride in being engaged on candidates and issues, would someone please wake me when the real campaign starts? Right now itās all posturing and hype.
Look at it this way: Remember when Phil Gramm was elected President in 1996? Or when Howard Dean locked up the Democratic nomination four years ago? Neither do I ā but they rented the same space Hillaryās renting right now.
Finally, the original question becomes relevant only if she gets the nomination, and then it can be asked in the context of GOP and third-party opponents.
Right now, Iām watching how each partyās crop of candidates (as a group) appeals to likely primary voters ā fascinating and, in some ways, scary as hell.
I have said this beforeā¦
Buying one M4 and one case of ammo per month is the
best medicine against this evil virus!!!
I just cannot see it.
Even the Democratic Party isnāt this stupid. They cannot seriously consider Hillary or Obama as viable candidates. I know they are getting the headlines now but wait until the real primaries, caucuses, and the convention are held.
Thatās when the truth will come out. If it happens they deserve what they get for squandering this opportunity.
Oh, yeah! She definitely has a chance. A very good one, as a matter of fact. The reason sheās doing so well in the polls right now is that sheās talking about giving something to everybody, so she polls very favorably. I would like to think that her statement in the recent debate that she would not be pulling our Armed Forces out of Iraq would hurt her badly with the left, but since all the other candidates said the same thing, I donāt think itās going to have my desired effect. She has an excellent chance of getting the nomination because sheās so good at playing the victim, and her opponents ācanāt hit the girlā.
The key to this election, for the Republicans, is to run on ideas and values. If the plan is to show how horrible that dumbass Hillary is, they will lose. Sheās imminently beatable, but running the wrong campaign will almost assure her election. I can only hope that if that happens, Americans will decide that gridlock will rock and deprive her of a dem majority in the Congress and Senate.
Yes she does. A VERY good chance.
It will be at least another 20yrs. of male Presidents and after that I donāt think sheāll be running.
There are a lot of bigots out there who normally vote for Democrats.
I donāt think those people will be able to be able to pull the lever for a woman or black man. Not even if the woman/black promises to support unions and steal from the rich to give them āfreeā health care.
I think the Democrats have too much to lose by nominating Clinton. The Clintons elicit very polar and firm reactions - love or hate. It seems like John Edwards would be a much safer pick for them.
That being said, I think it is dangerous to underestimate Hillary Clinton, dismiss her chances of being elected, and just sit back.
But itās all still conjecture. Weāve all been lulled into the immediacy of the campaign, but it seems like theyāve been out there for years and thereās time still to go. Does anyone have an idea about what the average campaign cycle is (years/months)? Everyone was making fun of Fred Thompson for joining ālateā at 14 months out.
Iāve voted in every election since I turned 18, but have never done any political volunteer work.
If Hillary gets the nomination, I will devote all my spare time to help the campaign of whoever the Republicans nominate to oppose herā¦
+1 Itās not having a Dem President that scares me. The Demās ruling the house doesnāt scar me either. Add a Virginia Tech mass shooting into mix. One that involves an AK or AR. That is what they are waiting for. All it will take is some Chief holding an AK up in a plastic Bag during a news conference.
Itās going to happen. But the Weapon used is something we canāt predict. VT was our free at bat. Yes they wonāt talk about new Gun restrictions while on the trail. Once their in they will shit a new Gun Ban proposal weekly.
What more proof do people need. The last Clinton Dem President got a Ban passed. So common sense says it will happen again. Doesnāt matter how much you stock up on. Itās going to suck if you cant trade, sell and buy more.
Agree. A woman or minority will have a problem getting votes in the South.
I do think Hill will get the Dem nod, but will lose to whomever the Rep put up.

She has a chance if we get complacent. ![]()
I think she has a very good chance and that a weāll see a Democrat in the Whitehouse before we see another Republican. The party has gone strayed so far from what it was supposed to be.
(sigh)ā¦yesā¦
Too bad Newt is radioactive.
NE Ohio is a strong Union area, even though they have done no damned good in the past 30 years, and from talking to them most of them just wonāt be voting.
I can ge them nearly as wound up and pissed offed speaking about the Democrating candidates as I can about the Republicans
The clinton machine has more arms than a bunch of octipi. Iām sure you saw this, but the machine recently burried a negative story that gq was going to publish. And thatās what you hear about. The left has blinders on to bill and hill.
I was thinking of a Newt / Thompson ticket, but itās just no meant to be - āGingrich Says No to White House Bidā, Sep 29 breitbart.com.
gosh i hope not.
