LEO only markings, should I worry?

I’m just about to pull the trigger on buying a Colt 6920. I know that the markings really don’t mean anything at this point but I could imagine a scenario where an uninformed officer, judge or jury might make this an issue.

Anything is possible with a misinformed authority figure.

I really don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

You absolutely cannot own that gun. PM me for disposal.

It’s only an issue if you stuck somewhere that requires pre-ban weapons. Otherwise, no worries.

I always wondered about that… but figured it wouldn’t matter for me since I’m not in a outlawed state for high capacity mags.

Wait until some nut-case uses one in a mass murder!

The anti-gunners will quote what’s written on the receiver and scream,
“How did he get a weapon clearly restricted for Military and LEO use only.”

“How did this happen?” “Why was this weapon sold to a civilian?”

Immediately after that all 6920’s will be banned from private ownership.

So you better get one now, while you still can.

(Note: Notice how Colt covered their ass on this one.)

Thank You Colt.

Magazines and some weapons have had these markings since the Clinton AWB. They don’t mean anything and the anti-gun crowd doesn’t need a silly marking to push their agenda.

Nope…no worries, unless it’s in a new AWB Bill or you live behind enemy lines, depending on the individual state law.

Being a LEO myself, I do know of several cases when that very thing has happen. Normally its cleared up within ten minutes or so. There are some LEO’s that could care less about guns believe it or not. I have read about a couple cases in the U.S. where they actulley took the rifle, but was cleared up within a couple days… Not sure the details on those.

Its perfectly legal, and Colt should make a different model number offering the same gun without the LEO markings. I remember a similar thing with the LEO glock mags after the ban… Go for it
