I recently bought a few hundred of the 22cal 32 gr Controlled Chaos for a high velocity varmint round. Have been watching some YT videos of the various Controlled Chaos offerings, and am impressed especially with the 55gr version. Anyone have any first-hand experience with these, or any of the Lehigh Defense projos for that matter?
I’ve only used their 400 gr solid coppers in a .500 S&W. I’ve not heard a bad word about their offerings and would expect your bullets to match the advertising
I’ve heard people talking about that company’s twist in the FMJ defense ammo and was wondering if the hype was legit or some bull shit gimmick. Anyone know if there is much in the way of actual street use on this stuff? It is suppose to feed like an FMJ for hollow point sensitive guns, hit like a bazooka and is the greatest thing since TP became available again.

I’ve never tried any of their rifle bullet offerings but I’m a BIG believer in their pistol bullets. I’ve seen enough videos & my own testing has convinced me to use these almost exclusively for my defensive rounds. (some factory, some I loaded myself). I would expect the rifle offerings to behave as advertised.
Those are miniature 120mm HEAT rounds!

Most of their other rifle projectiles are well priced for being copper solids, and a fair number of them are actually in stock. I may have to try a few others. Anyone have any decent DIY gel block recipes? Doesn’t need to be calibrated, just looking for good enough…
The solid pistol bullets are a bullshit gimmick. Sort of. Ignore the temporary stretch cavity in the cool looking videos and pictures. Consider it as a FMJ or solid that only crushes tissue that it touches and does not expand, and only penetrates within the accepted range, when it does, because it is light for caliber. Because thats what it is. But, like other solids, it is less affected by barriers, because failing to expand is normal, not simply a consequence of hitting denim or glass, and the heavier versions penetrate deep, if that is the sort of thing that is desirable. Just like any other solid of the same weight and diameter. Because it doesn’t expand.
Probably a good choice in the weaker calibers like 32 and 380, and the extreme penetration (there it is!) might be useful for 9mm or heavier calibers in some circumstances. The lighter weight Extreme Defenders will lighten your mags somewhat, which some might find useful. Much like ARX Inceptors, which are similarly gimmicky. Its also lead-free.
These cartridges and projectiles would be taken more seriously if they’d just drop the bullshit in their marketing and just market the real pros of the stuff. I suspect they needed to fluff it up for patenting or something, but I haven’t looked into that.
The Controlled Chaos rifle ammo looks very appealing. It reminds me of M855a1 in some ways, and thats a compliment.
Uncalibrated ballistic gel is as useless as shooting dryers and frozen hams and such. Don’t waste your time. Or do. Whatever. Shooting stuff is fun. Just don’t delude yourself into thinking you are learning anything useful.
I’ve loaded a few Lehigh bullets for my 380’s, I like them. Besides advertising claims, user reviews average rather high. With the 380,;a little help with penetration sure doesn’t hurt. In the past I’ve seen some use FMJ to get increases penetration.
Propeller bullets are stupid.
Bah. All these trick bullets do is blow a big hole in your wallet. Load a G19 with M882 and go down the road.
There was a guy here on M4 who lives here in AZ and made those videos. The gel was a bit too much effort for me to get into making it.
I still would like to take the pistol bullets and shoot hogs with it and see how they perform in real live flesh.

Th epistle rounds are a gimmick. The controlled chaos and other rifle offerings are legit. The 62gr Controlled Chaos kills the mess out of deer, hogs, and coyotes. It performs on par with mk318od1, big, nasty wound and always a pass through
