I’m new to handloading, and live pretty far from Cabelas. I gotta LNL setup. The advice of a wiser man was to get the a 4 pc die set in carbide. I bought the Lee deluxe pistol die set (9mm, 4 pc.). From what I gather, 2 of the dies are carbide. (crimp, sizing) Are the other 2 dies(expanding, seat/feed) different in the 3pc carbide set? Does it matter if they are carbide? Am I worried about a non-issue? I don’t know how many more 2hr drives I have in me. Thanks.
Your sizing die is the only one that is carbide, and it’s the only one that needs to be. You do not need to lube the case if you are using a carbide sizing die.
With the three die set you would do the seating and crimping at the same time. With the four piece set it is done separately.
