Lead Contamination Testing

A question for all the regular shooters… how often do you get yourself tested for lead poisoning? Was just reading this article about how lead contamination is a serious concern for shooters using indoor ranges.

Back when I was teaching a lot of Pistol Classes (about 3-4 classes a month) I had myself tested once a year. When my Lead levels ended up above normal; I cut back on reloading, teaching classes, as well as shooting at the Indoor Range.

It took just more that 6-years before my levels were back to normal. I now have myself tested once every couple of years during my Annual Physical.

There was a guy on here I think in another thread saying he worked in either a shooting range or an ammunition manufacturing company saying they got tested every 6 months for like 10 years or so and nobody ever had above average lead levels so the company stopped doing the testing.

Once every year. I don’t know how much the test costs as it’s part of my physical for work. The way I see it if you can afford it or your insurance covers it check yourself out every once and a while, it can’t hurt.
