LBT-6094B questions

I got a LBT-6094B slick carrier. I am curious if it’s the right size for me. I have 43R suit size and usually wear size L T shirt. The front is size M and back is size XL. Here is a photo of what it looks like while I am wearing it:

Is the carrier worn correctly?
Is there a way to retrofit the LBT cummerbund to this version of will I have to acquire the back panel with molle/sideplate cummerbund.
Are there any recommendation for make/model of plates to use with these carrier? I am probably looking at either Level 3 or Level 4 standalone. I am a civilian, and the carrier/plates will probably spend the bulk of it’s time in the closet. My intended use is probably the few classes that require armor and some range trips.

Thanks!

I didn’t like the slick. If I was you, I’d sell it.

If you want it, it might be best to contact LBT directly via email, also include the pic or a link to it, for their professional advice.

Most LBT carriers seem suited for those swimmer cut plates, ProTech, eclipse.

I think it best not to allow the carrier to determine the plate desired, but rather, the plates you desire for appropriate protection should determine the carrier. LBT can tailor make the various carriers to fit your plate. Once you figure out what plate you want.

Andy, Where did you get that SLICK? You are missing the side plate pocket panels, which are standard with the system.

Also, a LBT-6094B should run with your Large SAPI plates. The Gen 2 SLICKs for the Navy only work with the Swimmer cut High Density Moly Swimmer cut plates and the labels says it as long as it is not a first production carrier.

If you wear a Large T and Size 43 Suit, the 6094B XL carrier should work for you. The plate positioning looks ok as long as you understand that it is a plate carrier and not a full wrap vest. The LBT 6094 Vests use a traditional Cummerbund. The SLICK was designed as a Plate carrier to be utilized as a stand a lone rig or with other LBT or Navy issue vests (see below).

I use the Gen2 LBT 6094C which is designed for the Safariland Swimmer/Shooter cut plates, which I prefer for shooting and training due to comfort and weight savings. They also have a slick front panel that cover the junctions of the side straps for comfort and to keep the velcro to stay put.

The LBT Gen2’s also have built in side plate pocket panels with M4 carbine/SCAR light mag pouches built in. You can also get the accessory panels with Custom MOLLE PALs for mounting radios, med kits or other pouches…but not for full load out as the SLICKs were originally designed to carry plates only and be covered by a Rhodesian style chest vest like the LBT 1961 or 1961G…where the only difference is the G has a zipper in the front; or the Lo Vis LBT2586 vests.

If you got the SLICK from LBT, just tell them you want the full SLICK…with matching size panels for your plates.

If you bought it from a LBT reseller in the Airsoft dealerships that sell their gear…they kept your side panels to resell, which is bad news.

If you are using it as a training vest, I may have some side panels with MOLLE if you need some. They are a very specific use vest, and they are fielded by troops/sailors that train extensively and shoot extensively. As long as you feel comfortable with it, that is half the battle. It is designed for weight savings and durability, as the Coyote Tan ones like yours were made of 500 denier and not the lighter weight stuff like the SEALs are fielding (Specifically AOR1 and AOR2 camo). The LBT 6094 MOLLE vest with adjustable cummerbund is at least 5 times the weight of the SLICK, and designed for customizing your load out.

Email if you need any help. Check this board for earlier posts on these vest that I posed with comparison pictures of the Gen 1 and Gen 2 LBT SLICKS.

Thanks for the info guys.
SpartanDCI,
I got the carrier from TOS EE. I am new to armor/carriers so I wanted to try the LBT carrier since I read quite a bit about it.
