Looking though it today gave me the same feeling I get when BK gives me a single Whopper when I ordered a triple. Bad times.![]()
? Did something happen?
Guessing Pat is simply too busy. The guy is in extremely high demand, as he deserves to be.
Not meaning to get anyones panties in a bunch but, google " Pat Rogers fake " and hit the “strider knives” then the link to Pat. I think this can offer some explaination as to his his fading from the scene.
Someone needs to leave this forum
It would be better if you spoke only of things of which you have knowledge.
How about just ask Pat, in person. Pat, is no fake, he is honest to a fault. If some people choose to “interpet”, his discription of himself, in a way, that is incorrect, thats on them and not Pat.
Most of those people, have an agenda of their own, which does not incluse the continued success of Pat.
So there you go, send Pat an e-mail with the above link, and ask him.
Bob
ETA: in the name of “full disclosure”, a term which seems to go hand in hand with this topic, Pat calls me friend, I have a hard time with that, as I don’t feel I rate it.
I think one should not judge the man unless they’ve met/know him or trained with him. I’ve talked to Pat via phone and email quite a few times and I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism.
If one were saying they were a Force guy, I’d be skeptical, I never heard that from Pat Rogers or Travis Haley. It wasn’t until I had known Travis for a couple of weeks did I learned he was a former Force guy…
I have something to say to you that likely would get me banned from this forum. So, use your imagination.
Me too, and I feel the same way.
Now the guys over at Pownetworks have done years of exposing frauds and fakes, using NARA records, and other information obtained under FOIA… While I don’t know Pat Rogers at all, I will definitely look over the records presented on their site and form my own opinions of the situation based on the information contained therein.
This is the first I have ever heard of any controversy or concerns over his service…
If it is true I would just say wow, and move one with life. But if not, then there are some people that definitely owe a public and personal apology to him for smearing him.
I would love to ask Pat in person but probably will not have the chance to do so anytime soon.
There was a thread on this topic not too long ago. Early 2009 maybe?
Same recommendations: Ask Pat what you want to know about. Otherwise, it’s done.
Whoever runs that site has a whole lot of fricking time on their hands.
It’s not the first time it’s come up.
I see that… just never personally heard/read it before.
There are tons of guys that make claims that are false, some even get caught, but to think that a high profile instructor would do so without anyone calling him on it from the start is incredible, you would think that there are guys out there that served with him and can vouche for him or on the other side could say no way never happened.
Look on P. 6 of the Feb issue of SWAT. Pat is listed on the masthead as Training Consultant. Considering how long he has been writing for SWAT, I guess it was inevitable that one day an issue would come out without an article from him in it.
The POWnetwork really did crappy research. They quote third parties like some anonymous poster in a forum or NY Magazine article that lists a Kimber as “the Ferarri of Handguns” (Fiat is more like it). They don’t show anyplace where Pat made the claims himself.
Anyway, I would love to see some of Pat’s anonymous critics repeat these claims to his face.
Takers, anyone?
Just for giggles I hit that site mentioned above. It looks like it was formatted and written by a monkey on meth making web pages with Microsoft WordPad. Evasive, induendo, infer would apply to the way that their information is presented, to me. Is that guy looking to get a prize for most fonts, colors and text sizes used on one web page?
I find that when people present information in such a haphazard way, I try to stay clear. If your mind or your agruement do not lend themselves to simple, straightforward presentation, there is usually something wrong.
I don’t know Pat, never met him, but I’m trying to take one of his classes next year.
By the way, what is it lately with posters that use their email addresses as their names? The other guy about Gunbrokers Noveske rifles made ammends, but I’m going to start blocking people with “@” in their usernames.
They may have a lot of time on their hands, but they are truly doing a service. Want to take a guess as to how many phonies pop up on a weeekly basis. These people lie about their service, use their BS stories to get into positionsof trust, etc…
Just recently it was discovered that the guy who drove the Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial was a complete phony and had no Vietnam service among other claims. He also had a nice bit of criminal history.
I have personally been involved in similar “outings” the most recent with a person that my employer hired who made one too many claims. Needless to say he is gone and we are better off for it.
just maybe pat didn’t get an article in on time.
Pat had a very very busy schedule this past year i wouldnt read to much into it
Pat, is a friend and mentor and that being so, I would stand in the face of anyone talking trash
