Looks like that projectile worked well.
I’d like to see a test of 5-10 shots, in BG and then repeated through auto windshields–at both close range (3-10 yds) and 100 yds.
I’d like to have the budget to get some windshields! ![]()
Thanks DocGKR and Chatterbox for posting.
Windshields are free. Get old ones that are being replaced for small cracks from a body shop or glass vendor like Safelite.
That is exactly how I have done this. Many glass shops will give you broken windshields for free.
Nice. I’ll have to see what I can scrounge up then ![]()
Awesome! Thanks. I don’t own a 5.45mm but it’s always interesting to see really good performance from budget loads.
Did you change to gelatin or is that still Cleargel? The color looks like gelatin but the lack of stretch cavity looks like Cleargel.
I’d be curious if their .223 SPs are built the same and give similar performance.
I know a coule of guys down south who use the Wolf and Bear SPs out of ARs for deer, coyotes and pigs, reporting decent performance. If those work like the bullet tested that would explain why.
I am curious with the 55 grain weight-is this a .223 bullet?
It appears a bit shorter than the “standard” looking 5.45 projectiles
Just curious
I assume they would have to swage it down slightly for the 5.45 if it is the same bullet as the .223 loading.
It measures .222
Hmmmm, I wonder if they just use the same bullet for both loads? Would be possible with a bullet that size.
