Hornady comes out with an improved lower peak pressure powder that pushes velocity higher. I’m really looking forward for a 6.8 loading in that - or even bulk powder for reloading. It’s touted as faster, with lower recoil.
Part of the testing even showed that most weapon recoil was generated in the milliseconds after the bullet left the muzzle. Hmmmm. Recoil was reduced by getting the powder to burn more completely before exit, which left less residual pressure.
Best information on the AR I’ve read this year, from AR - American Rifleman. They seem to get it - AR’s are going huge, old fogey gun mag writers notwithstanding.
