OK, so my last built was an internet comando build for accuracy with ALL the bells and whistles, it shoots great, but is heavy and has so many extras that would be getting hung up on stuff in a SHTF situation. Also had a 2 stage, so one primer blow and you out of the fight…its a great “all around gun” and i guess if SHTF i could take some of the extra shit off, but i wanted something light, accurate and that would take a hell of a beating.
So this time I stuck with a stock single stage, but did add the EXO coated hammer that came with the failzero BCG. By the way, the zerofail BCG IMO is worth it. Its got a life time warenty and everyone I spoke with who has one loves it. The coating is crazy, no oil on it and it feels slick and wet to the touch. If the coating ever chips, wears, or anything breaks the will fix it or replace it.
Here is parts list:
RRA lower
RRA lower parts kit
RRA star safety
KNS gen 2 mod 2 anti rotational trigger/hammer pins
magpul winter trigger guard
tango down battle grip with spare batteries in the grip for optics
magpul mil spec CTR stock
spike T2-S2 (or whatever modle it is) heavey buffer
Noveseke n4 basic upper, 14.5 inch with pinned vortex
Zerofail BCG
Daniel Defence Omega Rail
Ladder rail covers
Troy rear bias
Eotech 552 with GGG accucam in case i have to ditch the optic
Bobro shorty vert grip with broken shell extractor and 1 round green tip
Surfire g2 LED
Vltor flashlight mount
all im waiting for is my magpul sling and im done!
also painted the manufactures marks with grey, no hi vis white on this gun! the grey ended up looking very slick! it matches the laser engraving on the DD rail and troy sights nicely.
I use it as an index or referance point, i dont hold it like a broom handle. the bottom of my palm is on it and my pinky finger and finger next to that wrap around while my first 2 fingers are wrapping around the bottom of the rail and my thumb is pointed down the barrel twords the target, also its perfect placement so my thumb is right at the endcap on the surefire.
Very nice build man have you had a chance to shoot it yet ? How is the balance of that carbine ?
That is almost exactly what I’m doing when I get my N4 light upper next week.
How do you like the CTR vs. VLTOR stock ? The only reason I ordered the CTR for mine is because I hate the wobbly standard carbine stock on the shitty bushmaster lower I’m using. I know the buffer tube is not loose but the stock is wobbly enough to where its annoying.
The only things I plan on doing differently is using the MIAD grip and stubby tango down VFG. The VLTOR light mount I got for mine looks like it hangs down.
The CTR friction lock is nice, my vltor has a slight wobble to it even though its on a vltor buffer tube, but only if you realy try to notice it. its not noticable when you shoot it because your pushing the stock into your shoulder.
You probobly got the vtor offset mount. I got the non offset becuase it fits the way i hold my weapon.
I changed the position of my eotech today, moved it back a little, i had it where it was becuase i have the magnifier and i thought maybe i would swtich it back anf forth, but decided against it. its got a screw mount and its loctited so i dont wanna keep moving it back and forth.
At first I had a YHM riser mount under the eotech but i decided against it, i didnt like it up higher and suprisingly the front sight does not bother me at all even with it sitting where it is now with the cowitness about 1.2 way up.
I almost went with a magpul maid grip but decied against it at the last second. I also though about getting the new magpul stock that has storrage, but didnt want to add any more weight at all. And the 2 AA batteries in the tango down battle grip are all i realy need.
Havent shot it yet. Cleaned the factory barrel today as per recomended by the noveseke barrel break in on thier sight. They say to clean it and give a light coat of oil when you first get it, and that does it.
